I AM FREE !!!

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God has laid you see.
I took his hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day to laugh,
to love, to work to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Oh yes,these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened wih times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee
God wanted me now; he set me free.

DRINKING FROM MY SAUCER

I've never made a fortune
and it's probably too late now.
But I don't worry about that much,
I'm happy anyhow.

And as I go along life's way,
reaping better than I sowed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.

Haven't got a lot of riches,
at times the going's tough.
But loved ones all around me,
makes me rich, quite rich enough.

I thank God for all his blessings,
and the mercies He's bestowed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'cause my cup has overflowed.

I Remember times when things went wrong,
My faith wore somewhat thin.
But all at once the dark clouds broke,
and the sun peeped through again.

So Lord, please help me not to gripe
about tough rows I've hoed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
"Cause my cup has overflowed.

God gives me strength and courage,
When the way grows steep and rough.
I'll not ask for other blessings,
I'm already blessed enough.

And may I never be too busy,
to help others bear their loads.
Then I'll keep drinking from my saucer,
"Cause my cup has overflowed.

AN IRISH BLESSING

May there always be work for your hands to do;
May your purse always hold a coin or two;

May the sun always shine on your window pane;
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;

May the hand of a friend always be near you;
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

A TINY ANGEL

I am a tiny Angel,
I'm smaller than your thumb;
I live in people pockets,
that's where I have my fun.

I dont suppose you've seen me,
I'm too tiny to detect;
Though I'm with you all the time,
I doubt we've ever met.

Before I was an Angel,
I was a fairy in a flower;
God, Himself, hand-picked me,
and gave me Angel Power.

Now God has many Angels,
That he trains in Angel Pools;
We become His eyes, ears, and hands,
we become His special tools.

And because God is so busy,
with way too much to do;
He said that my assignment,
is to keep close watch on you.

When he tucked me in your pocket,
he blessed you with Angel care;
Then told me to never leave you,
and I vowed always to be there.

HIGH FLIGHT

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth,
Of sun-split clouds--and done a hundred things.

You have not dreamed of--wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence, Hov'ring there;
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung,
My eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long delirious, burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace,
Where never lark, nor even eagle flew--
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high, untrespassed santity of space.
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

John Gillespie Magee, 1941
