Dear Friend,

Here at Pawleys Island Lodge, we are already hard at work planning our “Charity Golf Tournament” for 2008, our 18th year.

As you know, our organization is always busy structuring benevolent functions in the Pawleys, Georgetown and Myrtle Beach areas.  Our Golf tournament is our “Major” fundraiser and enables us to support many local and national charities through the help that we get each year from folks such as yourself.

Currently, Pawleys Island Lodge 409 grants two (2) scholarships to worthy students from Waccamaw High School.  Additional charities that we support, with your help, are Meals on Wheels, Various Youth Groups, Toys for Tots, The Shriners Hospital for Crippled and Burned Children and the Masonic Service Association, just to name a few. Our “Coats for Kids” program during the Holiday Season provides numerous children with not only coats but socks, toboggans, t-shirts, etc.

Additionally, some of the monies that we raise through our fundraisers are used, along with membership dues, to help run and maintain our Lodge.

The primary goal of our Lodge is to help young men to become peaceful, tolerant men through the precepts of Friendship, Morality and Brotherly Love and,  just as importantly, to learn the value of Faith, Hope and Charity.

There are various ways that you can help ensure that our work continues:
  • By being a Hole Sponsor
  • By putting together a foursome to play
  • By purchasing an ad for our tournament
  • By donating a Prize or Gift of some sort
Our tournament, to be held this year at the Caladonia Golf Club on Saturday, August 23rd, will be a “Captain’s Choice” Best Ball format. Registration is at 1:00 PM, Tee Time is 2:30 PM. Many exciting events are planned throughout the day. Coffee and pastry will be available prior to the start of the tournament, a catered Lunch courtesy of the Outback Steakhouse of Murrells Inlet, and complimentary beverages served throughout the event.
