Chapter history

St. Alphege Chapter No. 1431 was consecrated in 1918. It was founded by members of St. Alphege Lodge No. 1431 (sadly no longer meeting). At the time that both the Lodge and Chapter were founded, Masons at Solihull met in the upper rooms at The George Hotel opposite St. Alphege Parish Church - hence the name, St. Alphege being the patron saint of Solihull.

The history of St. Alphege Lodge can be found at the Provincial Grand Lodge of Warwickshire Library, 2, Stirling Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B16 9SB. Unfortunately this is not a lending library but appointments can be made to consult the collection by contacting the Provincial Office on 0121 454 4422 or by contacting the librarian at masons@warwickshirpgl.org.uk
