OUTWITTED

He drew a circle that shut me out-
Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout.
But love and I had the wit to win;
We drew a circle that took him in!

THE SATELLITE

We went outside one night,
To see why mom was a callin.
We saw what was quite a sight,
In the sky somethin was a fallin.

It fell from the sky without a sound,
We wondered if any planes were around.
We looked in the news, but saw no clues,
That it was see from Texas to Holand.

ON THE OTHER SIDE OF DEATH

Death is a GATEWAY
we all must pass through
To reach that Fair Land
where the soul's born anew.

For man's born to die
and his sojourn on earth
Is a short span of years
beginning with a birth...

And like pilgrims we wander
until death takes our hand
And we start on our journey
to God's Promised Land.

A place where we'll find
no suffering nor tears,
Where TIME in not counted
by days, months, or years...

And in this Fair City
that God has prepared
Are unending joys
to be happily shared.

With all of our loved ones
who patiently wait
On Death's Other Side
to open "THE GATE"!

God saw she was getting tired,
And a cure was not to be.
So he put his arm around her
and wispered,
"It's time, come with me."

EARLY ONE MORNING

I got up early one morning
And rushend right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish
That I didn't take time to pray.

Problems just tumbled about me
And heavier became each task.
"Why doesn't GOD help me?" I wondered
He answered, "You didn't ask."

I wanted to see joy and beauty
But the day toiled on, gray and bleak
I wondered why GOD didn't show me,
He said, "But you didn't even seek."

I tried to come into God's presence;
I used all my keys on the lock.
GOD gently and lovingly chided,
"My child, you didn't knock."

I woke up early this morning,
And paused before entering the day.
I had so much to accomplish,
That I had to take time to pray.

COMPUTER PRAYER

Every night I lie in bed
This little prayer inside my head
God bless my mom and daddy
and bless my mare and boys
and take care of my husband
he brings me so much joy..

And God there's just one more thing
I wish that you would do
if you don't mind me asking
to just bless my puter too??

Now I know that its not normal
to bless a small machine
but listen just a second
and I'll try to explain...

You see, that little metal box
holds more than odds and ends,
Inside those small components
rest a hundred loving friends.

Some its true I've never seen
and most I've never met
we've never shaken hands or
ever truly hugged, and yet..

I know for sure they love me
by the kindnesses they give
and this little scrap of metal
is how I get to where they live.

By faith is how I know them
much the same as I know you,
I share in what life brings them
so if its ok with you..

Just take an extra minute
from your duties up above..
to bless this little hunk of steel
thats filled with so much love.

MODEM

"We sit and we type, and we stare at our screens
We all have to wonder, what this possibly means.

With our mouse we roam, through the rooms in a maze
Looking for something or someone, as we sit in a daze.

We chat with each other, we type all our woes
Small groups we form, and gang up on our foes.

We wait for somebody, to type out our name
We want recognition, but it is always the same.

We give kisses and hugs, and sometimes flirt
In PMs we chat deeply, and reveal why we hurt.

We do form friendships -but- why we don't know
But some of these friends will flourish and grow.

Why is it on screen, we can be so bold
Telling our secrets, that have never been told.

Why is it we share, the thoughts in our mind
With those we can't see, as though we were blind.

The answer is simple, it is as clear as a bell
We all have our problems, and need someone to tell.

We can't tell real people, but tell someone we must
So we turn to the 'puter, and those we can trust.

Even though it's crazy, the truth still remains
They are Friends Without Faces, and odd little names."

A GIFT OF FRIENDSHIP

Friendship is a priceless gift
that cannot be bought or sold,
But its value is far greater
than a mountain made of gold.

For gold is cold and lifeless
it can neither see nor hear,
And in the time of trouble
it is powerless to cheer.

It has no ears to listen
no heart to understand,
It cannot bring you comfort
or reach out a helping hand.

So when you ask God for a gift
be thankful if he sends,
not diamonds, pearls or riches
but the love of real true friends.

FRIENDS

Like a needle in a haystack
Good friends are hard to find
That's why I am thankful
I can gladly call you mine

Friends will be there when you need them
If your happy or you're sad
I will be there for you
And I hope that you'll be there for me too

If we ever get in a fight
Im sure it will be okay
For we are sure to make up
Within a couple days

As the days and months go by
Our friendship does grow stronger
And with every passing year
We will grow even closer

With you my heart is honest
but there's only one thing I haven't told
Thanks for being who you are
Your heart is made of gold
