Back to Guardian's Corner

April 10, 2002

Hello everyone! I apologize for the delay with the Bethel Guardian's Corner. With the end of the grading period and a few other things, this week has been crazy!!

RECENT EVENTS.....

This past weekend the Bethel participated in the first annual Spring Retreat. We started out at Lee District Park, where we had a picnic and a couple of activities. It got to be too cold, so we ventured out to the Groner's house for the council workshops, Jobie Jeopardy and Music of the Night. Everyone had a good time!

ON TAP FOR THIS WEEK......

Saturday is a BUSY day! Grandparent's Day at the Masonic Home in Richmond begins at 10 a.m. Please meet at the temple at 8:30 a.m. Dress is casual. Make sure you are in comfortable shoes. If you are going to Richmond, please bring a small, inexpensive gift for the Bingo game the Grand Guardian Council is playing. Also, if you have time, make a card or two for our Grandmother and Grandfather. I'm sure they'd love to have something from you all! You should be leaving Richmond around 1 or 2 p.m. Adults, if you'd like to chaperone - - CALL OR EMAIL IMMEDIATELY!

Saturday night, at 8 p.m. is the HQMCWA Ball. This year's ball is at the Kena Temple ANEK. It is NOT in the main building, where the dance is usually held. Dress is formal - be sure you are wearing the appropriate shoes. Dad James and I will be on hand to chaperone. If anyone else would like to chaperone....the more the merrier!!

COMING SOON.....

THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS REQUEST......

The Marshal of Bethel 16 Fredericksburg, Ashley, suffered an injury this past weekend. She fell from a van, while it was in motion. She has suffered some brain damage. The last update I received said that she was in the hospital in Richmond, she has had convulsions and her heart has stopped once. I ask that you keep Ashley and her family in your prayers and thoughts. If you wish to send a card, I have the young lady's address. I'm sure her family would love to know that the Job's Daughters of Virginia are thinking and praying for their daughter.

REMINDERS.....

Session medical forms and adult surveys are due on April 21. No money is due at that time. If you will not be attending Session this year, be sure to let me know (a couple of you already have!)

SUNSHINE....

Happy belated Birthday to our newest teenager - Jenna Hampton. Her birthday was April 5.

On a personal note, my grandmother will be having surgery on Friday to remove a tumor in her chest. Please keep her in your thoughts.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK......

"Reaching toward the best..."

See you this weekend!

Mom Melanie
