Back to Guardian's Corner

December 17, 2001

I'd like to start out this edition of the Bethel Guardian's Corner with a very special announcement: As many of you know, the Bethel set a goal at the beginning of the term to work toward the Spirit Award. There were 7 categories that the Bethel had to earn points in. We could earn a minimum of 1,000 points in order to earn the award. As of December 16, 2001 the Bethel has 1,273 points. CONGRATULATIONS BETHEL 22 ON YOUR SPIRIT AWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have worked very hard this term, and this award is proof of all your hard work. On behalf of your council members, we are very proud of you!!

On Saturday, December 15 the Bethel attended the John Blair Lodge Installation. Dad Mertz was installed as the Worshipful Master and our very own Dad James was installed as the Marshal. The Bethel presented Dad Mertz with a poster, which had been signed by all the members of the Bethel and many of the council members. Ladies, that gift meant a lot to Dad Mertz. Almost all of our members were in attendance - which was absolutely wonderful to see. A ball was held after the installation. Mom Mona, aka Kid K, was our DJ. I believe everyone had a wonderful time!

On Sunday, December 16 the Bethel meeting honoring PHQs and Majority Members. As we had 5 guests were in attendance, that were NOT on the Bethel Guardian Council, the Bethel received 75 spirit points toward the Spirit Award. At this meeting, elections for the next term were held. The results are as follows:

The Librarian read a special poem, entitled "S.T.A.C.E.Y" in honor of Stacey Hampton, the Honored Queen. After the meeting, the council and daughters had a Christmas party/social time. We discovered that Santa Claus had visited our Bethel while were in our meeting! :o)

This Friday is the AW DeMolay Installation. The Installation will begin at 7:00 p.m. Please plan to arrive by 6:30 p.m. at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial. Attire is semi-formal. Please wear the appropriate clothes and shoes. There will be a dance after the installation, and the attire is casual. The chaperones for the evening will be Mom Hampton and Mom Cox. Please let your line officer know this week if you can attend.

At our December 2 meeting, you voted to attend Brotherhood Weekend, in January. The costs are as follows: $27, per person, for the banquet, dance, pizza party and breakfast on Sunday. The Hotel cost is $65 - With 4 to a room, the cost for the hotel per person will be $16.25. A grand total of $43.25 should be mailed to me IMMEDIATELY. As I will be sending a personal check, all checks should be made payable to "Melanie Abbott." Please email me if you do not have my mailing address. I would be glad to email it to you.

Dues are due to Mom Groner ASAP. You cannot be installed into your new station until you have paid your dues. Dues are $12 per year. Make all checks payable to "Bethel 22."

I am looking for 2 daughters to write articles on the following for the website: AW DeMolay Installation and the AW 22 Lodge Installation. Please email me immediately if interested.

Do you have any pictures you would like to see on the website? If so, get them to Dad James!! He'll be glad to put up some of the pictures on the website!!!

Christmas sales are still going on. If you arrive for your shift and you discover that you and your chaperone are the only two people on the lot, stay on the lot!!!! Continue to sell trees!!! Should you run into any problems while you are working your shift, please call Dad Matt Szramoski or myself.
