December 3, 2001

It's hard to believe that it is December already. It seems as if the year just began. During this holiday season, I wish you all the best.

RECENT EVENTS......

Prior to the meeting on Sunday, the Bethel met at Generous George's to have dinner. We had a great turnout and I hope you all had fun! We ate too much pizza, listened to the Christmas music that was playing on the radio and had a great time! It was just what we needed! Special thanks you to ALL of the drivers who turned out to help us get to the Temple in time for the meeting: Dad James, Mom Mona, Mom Heim, Mom Hampton, Dad Kapoor, Mom Lanham and Mom Cox!

UPCOMING EVENTS......

Tonight is the council meeting at the Groner's home - please arrive by 7:30 p.m. This meeting is going to be short, yet fun! All Line Officers are required to attend.

The Bake Sale is this weekend! We will have the sale on December 8 and 9 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. We will be breaking up into shifts: 9-1 and 1-5. Only three people may work a shift at a time. Expect a phone call or email from me if you signed up for a shift that is already full. Also, if you are working the Christmas tree sale on either day, you may not work the bake sale at the same time as your tree shift. Again, expect a phone call or email if this has happened. Please bring your baked goodies to the bake sale on Saturday or Sunday by 8:45 a.m. Please have your items packaged for sale (wrap them in plastic wrap, please!) Remember, you will receive 5 participation points for each day that you provide food.

Thanks to those who agreed to make signs for the Bake Sale! Please bring them on Saturday morning. Remember, we do get spirit points for the signs! Remember the point of this bake sale: to raise money for the Educational and Promotional Fund AND for HIKE.

We will be meeting at the Scottish Rite Temple (site of the Christmas tree sales) at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday for the mystery trip. The plan is to pile into the car and go grab a bite to eat. Please let your line officer know if you can definitely attend this trip. After the trip, you will all head to the Hampton's house for a slumber party. Don't forget your outfits for church the next day too! Also, the Bethel is planning to make a card for Dad Mertz's installation on December 15. So, please bring your creative juices!!

UPCOMING EVENTS.......

  • December 15 is the John Blair Lodge Installation, at the Scottish Rite Temple at 6:30 p.m. Attire is semi-formal, formal.
  • December 15 - Brotherhood Deadline!!! Need $20

BIRTHDAYS......

  • Happy 51st Birthday to Bethel 22 on December 10!
  • Happy Belated Birthday to Dad Matt Szramoski on November 30!

SPIRIT AWARD UPDATE.....

We have 575 points out of 1,000! The deadline for the Spirit Award is in February - so we have plenty of time to earn all 1,000 points!

SHAMELESS PLUGS.....

Do you have pictures you want to see on the web? If you answered yes to this question, please get them to Dad James so he can get them on the web!!

Do you like to write? I am looking for articles to put on this website about recent events our Bethel has attended. If you are interested in doing this - please email me ASAP. Please keep in mind, this is an ongoing commitment and you will be asked to do this often!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK.......

"Piety, religion and reverence for sacred things are the beacon lights of life."

Have a wonderful week!
