First and foremost, I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome our newest member, Ms. Jamie Cooper. Jamie was initiated at our meeting last night and hopefully will find her membership to be both fun and rewarding. We are definitely excited to have her join us!

Secondly, I would like to give a BIG (HUGE, REALLY) THANKS, to all who made our 3rd Annual Halloween Party the success that it was. I'd like to thank Mira for her hard work in getting everything planned (and dealing with me). I'd also like to thank Northern Neck DeMolay Chapter for DJing, the girls of 22 for helping set-up, clean-up, hosting (and again, dealing with me). I'd like to thank all who helped in the kitchen: Mom Melanie, Mom Karen, Mom Nancy, Mom Spita, Mom Wendy and Mom Zina for playing our 'Bouncer' again this year. I'd like to give a big thank you to Dad James, Mom Wendy and Mom Melanie for helping keep me sane(...ish) in dealing with the Haunted House.

I hope that everyone who attended enjoyed themselves. The screams I got in the Haunted House were gratifying and made it all worth it for me at least. If anyone has any ideas, comments, concerns, questions, etc. about future halloween parties, feel free to contact us. We enjoy hosting this party each year and want to make it better each time for all who attend.

Along the same lines of thanking people, I'd like to thank our Protems from Bethel 1 for helping us at our initiation last night. Thank you very much Lee Anne and Sarah. (By the way Lee Anne, I'm over you throwing the cake on the floor. You can come back anytime.) I'd also like to thank our adult Protems, Dad Baker for serving as Associate Bethel Guardian, Mom Judy for serving as Guardian Secretary and Mom Maryanne for serving as Director of Music. You all can come back anytime too!

Some sad news...Dad Hugh Clark passed away recently, as did Mom Helen Elliott. Mom Elliott was the Grand Guardian in 1984-1985 associated with Bethel 24 and Dad Clark is a Past Associated Bethel Guardian of our Bethel. Please keep their families in your thoughts and prayers.

Recent Events

• Sunday, October 26 - Grand Visitations for Bethels 13 & 39 - Jenna, Brooke, Kerry and Mom Wendy went down for the visit on Sunday. Dad James and Mom Melanie where down for the whole weekend. The Bethel won First Place for Distance, First Place for Jobie Miles and tied for Most Daughters. WAY TO GO!!!
• Wednesday, October 29 - Heroes Dinner - Kasey, Nathalie, Mom Zina and Mom Spita served a dinner of Chinese food to the Heroes of '76. Nathalie was talked into playing a few numbers on the piano and wowed everyone.
• Saturday, November 1 - 22's 3rd Annual Halloween Party - Just about everyone in the Bethel showed up for this event. The girls showed up early, helped set-up, had Fuddrucker's for dinner, then hosted the party. We had a very good turn-out. In fact, we're already discussing finding a larger venue for next year's party, although we really enjoy dealing with the men of Henry Lodge. They've been extremely hospitable towards us the past two years. But the party was a success, so check back about next August for information on next year's party.
• Sunday, November 2 - Regular meeting - Initiated Jamie Cooper into our Bethel. After the meeting the daughters hung out in the social hall and had refreshments with our new member and her family.

• Saturday, November 15 - Grand Visitation for Bethels 11, 37 & 71 - In Chesapeake at 7PM - Check this event on the calendar for more information
• Sunday, November 16 - Regular meeting - VERY LIKELY that we will be having another initiation. (I guess the Halloween party didn't scare Jamie's younger sister off!)
