On pre-voting for prospective members...
This is another ruling handed down from Grand Lodge. It involves a potential brother who may have been brought up in Lodge and discussed among the brothers. If he is found to be a man of good reputation by the members and they are willing to vouch for his charactor, we may proceed to vote on allowing him to become a member. If the vote is favorable, a representative can then deliver a petition to the prospective member with the hope that they would wish to join our fraternity. This basically just speeds up the membership process a little. As it is now with once-a-month meetings, the time span between submitting a petition and beginning degree work my a take up to three months.
Residency at the Indiana Masonic Home...
Many brothers think that to live at the Masonic Home one must surrender all their financial assets. This was true in the past, however, there have been some exciting new changes in the past couple years. The Masonic Home has been expanding not only in capacity, but in options for residency. In addition to their excellent health care services, they have apartments and condos. This allows you to move onto the campus and pay your own way while taking advantage of all that the Home has to offer. If the time comes that a condo is too much, you can move to an apartment. Ultimately, the full-time services of the geriatric care specialists may be required. This is only a brief overview of what is going on down in Franklin.
