Next meeting date: August 30, 2010

Spaghetti Dinner 5:30,

Informal meeting to follow

Here is a synopsis of the meeting held last Thursday August 19:

On February 26, 2011, we will host an event where the Grand Lodge Officers of Ontario, Canada, and New York State will be in attendance.

We decided to investigate holding a dinner at Dar’s Place at the Quality Inn just down the street from the Lodge.  Since it is anticipated the GL Officers will be traveling with spouses, we would like to include activities for them as well.  We are looking at a possible organ concert, preceding dinner, at the Congregational Church by a renowned artist Jim Phillips.   Other ideas include: transportation to the Casino for the ladies, or some other activities in the area such as a movie at the Movieplex.  The ideal situation now is: Concert early afternoon; dinner by 4 or 4:30, then the men adjourn to Lodge for Masonic ceremonies while the ladies are otherwise engaged (casino, movie, tour of the Power Authority, Brasher Falls Winter Carnival, etc).  We will ask the Eastern Star and the Chamber of Commerce for ideas regarding this. We would like to limit the dinner to 200 people at a per-person fee.

We need to determine how to pay for all of this, so the committees will be bringing costs to the next meeting.
