Brief History of Sinclair Masonic Lodge #154

Sinclair Masonic Lodge was organized on November 1, 1869 with 20 members at Pine Ridge in Dutch Fork (Lexington County). The first meeting was held under special dispensation on December 18, 1869, and the lodge was finally chartered on November 1, 1870. The lodge changed location from Pine Ridge to New Brookland on December 11, 1901 with a total of 25 members.

Unfortunately, the Charter was destroyed by fire during the burning of New Brookland on March 4, 1905. The Grand Lodge issued a duplicate charter on April 28, 1905. Another Change in location occurred from the Community Building to the Armory on October 25, 1946 with a total of 250 members. A final location change from the Armory to our present location (1104 “B” Avenue, West Columbia) took place on May 29, 1947. At the time of this location change, there were a total of 282 members.

Cayce Masonic Lodge #384 was organized and chartered on April 24, 1953. At the time of their charter; Cayce Masonic Lodge took 70 members from Sinclair Masonic Lodge as chartered members. Cayce Lodge #384 is now located at 1701 12th Street, in Cayce South Carolina.
