2000-2001 Officers installed September6

L-R Front - Richard Luther, Walter Mundstock, Joseph Minyard
L-R Back - Milo Dailey IV, Uncle Matt Schatz, Douglas McFarland

It was on a fall evening in September the 6th as I recall that a group of Masonic Brothers traveled to Redfield for a major event in the annals of the Lodge of Research. The location was the Eastern Star Home. The occasion was the stated communication of Redfield Lodge No. 34 that was under way upon our arrival. The presiding Worshipful Master, Walter Mundstock interrupted the business briefly to introduce the visitors.

The visiting group included Brothers Joe Minyard, Phillip Damm, Douglas McFarland and Richard M. Luther from Brookings Lodge No. 24, Brother Milo Daily IV, Concord Lodge No. 13, Watertown and Brother Matt Schatz, Pierre Lodge No. 27.

Past Grand Master Richard M. Luther proceeded to install the following Lodge of Research Officers:

Walter Munstock, Worshipful Master Joe Minyard, Senior Warden Douglas McFarland, Senior Deacon Uncle Matt Schatz, Junior Deacon Milo Dailey IV, Tyler

Most Worshipful Brother Luther chose an installation ritual used by the Grand Lodge of Iowa for more than 100 years. Following brief remarks of thanks and appreciation by Worshipful Master Mundstock, the officers of the Grand Lodge of South Dakota were asked to stand and be recognized. It was also noted that Brothers Phillip Damm and Milo Daily IV were Past Masters of the Lodge of Masonic Research.

The meeting was well attended with 23 Brothers present. Upon closing everyone enjoyed refreshments and fellowship.
