At the request of WB John Johnson, here is the families announcement of arrangements for his wife Sherry, which will be a cremation. There will be a memorial service for her on Tuesday, January 24th, at 2:00 PM at Belin Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet. WB John has asked that, in lieu of ANY flowers at the service, everyone please consider making a tax deductible donation to the "Scottish Rite Children's Foundation" at PO Box 30817, Charleston, SC 29417-0817, and please designate them to be for the Charleston location in memory of Lady Sherry Johnson. So Mote It Be, Amen

Brothers,
Last night at the instructional meeting we had a great meeting and a fabulous meal. The cost of this meal was not discussed or mentioned so I am sending you this information. The cost for each Lodge will be $158.00 those of you that are the Masters of your Lodge please take care of this and those of you that are the secretary or other officers do the same.
I know that this is not my duty to do this but I know how it is to be owed money. If we do not look out for each other who will.

Brothers,
Those of you that were not at Masters and Wardens on Monday you
missed a great form of Masonic Education. Brother Derek Allred of
Pawleys Island Lodge show his proficiency on the 3rd Degree, and it
was brought up about the coach standing proficiency on the 3rd
Degree also. I have called the Grand Secretary and he said that he
feels that if the coach has not stood proficiency at an earlier
date, he also thinks that he would be standing proficiency also. He
also said that it would be up to the Lodge or the Master or
Presiding Officer to make that decision on this as in the other
degrees.
This is the only degree that is on a voluntary base to learn and if
the one that is doing the couching ask the question from memory and
not from the book, I personally believe that he has done the same as
the one he has couched and is entitled to a certificate also. I hope
that this explains this well enough and not confused you.
I have sent this to G. Ray also and if I have not put it to you
correct I know that he will let me know what I need to correct.

Designs on the Trestle Board
In gratitude for our veteran’s service, as Grand Master I am
placing upon the trestle board a
request that every lodge in our Grand Jurisdiction support the
“Victory House” veteran’s hospital
in Walterboro South Carolina. If every lodge will donate $75
dollars to purchase a van then we
can donate the van to help transport our veterans to the
Veteran’s Hospital. I encourage each of you
to unite and have a fund raising project, if you cannot raise
$75 dollars I assure you any contribution
will be appreciated by your Grand Lodge and our veterans. I can
think of nothing better than South
Carolina Mason’s uniting to support the men and women who gave
so much and asked nothing in
return. I have asked M.W. Brother G Kent Elkins PGM to take the
lead and work under the
direction of our Grand Secretary M.W. G Ray Marsh on this
endeavor. Checks should be made to
the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of South Carolina and mailed to:

I dare say that each of us have been touched with, either
through personal experience or you
have had a family member or friend with that dreaded
decease…cancer. As Grand Master I am
placing upon the trestle board a request that every lodge in our
Grand Jurisdiction support finding
a cure for breast cancer. Over the course of a lifetime, 1 in 8
women will be diagnosed with breast
cancer. I have asked R.W. David J. Dechant DGM to take the lead
and work under the direction of
our Grand Secretary M.W. G Ray Marsh on this endeavor. The
united effort is “United for a
Cause”. R.W. David will work with the lodges and gather funds
that will be presented to the
National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc at our 275th Annual
Communication on behalf of the
masons in our Grand Jurisdiction. Checks should be made to the
Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of
South Carolina and mailed to:

May our Father in Heaven hold you in the palm of his hand,
sheltered by his grace, and surrounded
with his love is my fervent prayer.
With love and appreciation
As always your friend and brother from Inman
