BROTHER Edwin "Footsie" Stephan

 

STEPHAN, EDWIN "FOOTSIE," 87, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at his home in Louisville.

He was a dedicated servant to many organizations: staff sergeant U.S. Marine Corps 2nd Division, son of a charter member of the Pipefitters Local Union 522, a 67-year member of Local 522 himself, member of the District Council from 1951 - 1988, past president Local 522 - 2 terms, past apprentice coordinator Local 522, life member Marine Corps League 729, life member American Legion Post 201, life member V.F.W. post 3636, member Robinson Masonic Lodge #266 since 1953, Kentucky Colonel since 1979, Bonnycastle Club member since 1979, past president and committee member of AARP Audubon Chapter 3863 and member of St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Alma Bickel Stephan; and three children, Cheryl, Carol and James "Ty" Stephan (Debbie).

He is survived by three loving daughters, Barbara Figuried (Tony), Laraine Staples (Barry) and Etta Lechleiter; "Grandpa" to nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and "Uncle Eddie" to numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen Martyr, 2931 Pindell Ave., with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation: 11a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison Ave., at Barret.

The family asks that you donate blood in lieu of flowers.

Passed to the degree of a Fellow Craft on January 21, 1954

Raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on March 11, 1954

Died in Louisville Kentucky on June 7, 2011 at 87 years of age. His Masonic career spanned 57 years.

Masonic Services will be at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison Ave., at Barret at 7:30pm, Friday, June 10, 2011, please arrive by 7:00pm.
