PAYNE, ROY BARTON, 73, passed away
peacefully with his family at his side,
Monday February 8, 2010 at Sacred Heart
Village.
He was born in Louisville and was a
journeyman cement mason with Local # 694 for
55 years.
He was a member of Shively Baptist Church
and a member of Robinson Masonic Lodge # 266
F&AM.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54
years, LaVerne (Freitag) Payne; his
daughters, Lynda (Payne) Payne (Ken) and Dr.
Sandra Payne-Rakutt (Dr. John); his
grandchildren, Jonathan Payne, David Payne,
and Lillian Rakutt; his sisters, Martha
Hubbard and Mary Casey; his brother, John
Smith and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at
the Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy, with
burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
Visitation: Wednesday 2-8 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy: WHAS Crusade for
Children.
The family would like to extend their

the nurses, and staff at Sacred Heart
Village for their compassion and excellent
care.
