BRO. John Frederick Eckerle, Jr.

 

ECKERLE, JOHN FREDERICK, JR., 89, passed away Friday, April 2, 2010 at his home.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was a Defense Mapping Agent for the U.S. Government. John was a Master Mason at Robinson Lodge No. 266 for over 60 years, a member of Southeastern Shrine Clown Assoc., a member of the Scottish Rite for over 50 years, a council member for City of Windy Hills, a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church and he attended Clifton Christian Church.

John is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, the former Doris Whittaker.

His survivors include his daughter, Patricia West (Denis); granddaughter, Dana West; grandson, Mark West (Melanie); and one great-granddaughter, Isabella.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd, with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery, 701 Baxter Ave. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
