Roanoke Valley Scottish Rite Visits George Washington
Masonic Memorial and House of the Temple
Twenty Brethren and their wives car-pooled to Alexandria and Washington, D.C. on
July 25 and 26, 2010 to tour the George Washington Masonic Memorial and the
House of the Temple. At each venue, all received an excellent guided tour and
were wowed by the magnificent architecture and priceless artifacts on display.
The George Washington Masonic Memorial continually reminds us that it is the
property of every single active Freemason in the United States.
While visiting the House of the Temple, the visitors learned
that it is undergoing a number of repairs which require its limited schedule of
being open Monday through Thursday. In 2012 it will be closed for two years for
extensive renovations, so the group was glad of its timely visit and hopes that
more brethren and their spouses will make the trip soon.
