My Brethren:

Dawson Lodge suffered a great loss since our last communication with the
passing of Worshipful Brother and Most Illustrious Companion C. Macaulay
Ward, our Secretary.  His long and faithful service to the Craft will be
an evergreen memory among those who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was a Brother--and a friend.

Bro. Delihn asks me to remind you of the Almas Temple open house for
non-Masons on 10 September.  We cannot recruit, but we can let our light
be visible.  Contact Bro. Delihn for further details.  As an officer of
a Lodge that meets that evening, I regret I cannot attend.  But YOU can
help us acquire new members.

Next month is both Secretaries' Night at our stated communication (with
an excellent speaker and maybe something else, too) and our Grand
Visitation.  You are hereby notified that at 7:30 pm on 10 October,
there will be a special communication of Dawson Lodge at Naval Lodge
Hall for the purpose of Grand Visitation.  Something unique is planned
for our GV, so you will want to be there.  (One more "mystery" of
Freemasonry.)

As this month is Wardens' Night, the remainder of the Master's space is
relinquished to our Sr. Warden, Rabih Salame for his comments; he'll be
writing these next year and might as well get in practice.  Please note
that we will have balloting this month; details on the Secretary's page.
