To find a new job, try the following:
- Direct Marketing World
- FedWorld Jobs
(which is updated everyday)
- JobWeb
- National
Employment Search
- Online Career Center
- E-Span
- Monster Board which has over
50 thousand listings, will post your resume, and can run an agent to
look for jobs matching a profile you specify
- Career Mosaic which has
a good geographical selection interface
- Career Path (search job
ads in six major newspapers)
- Career Builder (with
the ability to have it search and email positions according to a
personal profile as they are posted--currently only operating in
Washington, DC metro area, though)
- America's Job Bank
- Help Wanted USA
- Career Magazine Database
- Career City
- NationJob Network
- DICE (full-time and consulting
jobs, with a search engine--mostly weighted toward California, but not
exclusively so)
- Career Sight (resume
posting, jobs, etc.)
- Virtual Resume (post
your text resume free or pay extra for additional services, such as HTML
formatting, distribution via Usenet, etc.)
- Careers
section at TechWeb
- dc.jobs for job-hunters in
the Washington, DC metro area (also visit the newsgroup dc.jobs)
- The Riley Guide (a
very extensive listing)
- Select Jobs (a resource
for computer industry jobs-seekers)
- DC Metro Careers
On-line
(Thu Jun 5 07:36:43 PDT 1997)
- Internet Resources
located in DC area but with national clients
(Mon Jul 21 05:59:20 PDT 1997)
- JobSmart (if you live in CA)
- Jobs Resource (has a
lot of entry-level positions, something you won't find in many of these
databases; also more senior openings, geographic breakdown, resume
posting, search by several criteria--a primary source for college
recruitment)
(Tue Jul 7 18:54:33 PDT 1998)
- Careers resources from the
Wall Street Journal
- Resumix will assist in resume
preparation, including HTML coding for posting on your Web site
(Wed Mar 11 05:33:53 PST 1998)
- Bull's Eye Job Shop
(Wed Mar 11 05:35:38 PST 1998)
- HRS Federal Job Search will
email you jobs based on a profile you create (which may be by location
and salary as well as position description)--but each job it finds will
send you a separate email; you might get hundreds...
- Skill Search (for both
job seekers and employers)
- Jobsmart offers nationwide
salary surveys and access to position listings in California
- Futurestep is a joint
venture of Korn-Ferry and the Wall Street Journal, providing
recruitment information for executive and managerial positions
- Computer Jobs Store is a
national and regional database for employment in the computer industry.
(Thu Mar 11 13:53:45 PST 1999)
- AmericanJobs.com--a
database of computer jobs.
(Mon Apr 19 05:54:10 PDT 1999)
- Jobs.Com is a new site with many
categories of positions (potentially) available. They have special
resume-formatting software which must be used to submit resumes directly
through the site. Too bad if you aren't a Windoze user, though; the
software supports only that platform.
(Wed Apr 28 13:30:11 EDT 1999)
The Wall Street Journal also
recommends that job hunters use regular search engines, like Alta Vista, and enter
keywords like "hiring" along with position titles or subject areas.
This may find postings on companies' Web sites which haven't been placed
on the centralized boards mentioned above.
