Masonic Community Action
- This page is devoted to publicise any event run by
Provincial Grand Lodge, any Daughter Lodge
or other recognised Masonic body,
- for the general good of local communities and masonry in particular.
- If your Lodge raises money or donates equipment for any causes out with Freemasonry it will be of benefit to the
- craft and its members to pass this information to the wider community to inform them of the quiet but efficient way
-
in which our organisation helps others in need in times of personal and national crisis.

- Brethren,
I have been
asked by my son to make an appeal on his behalf for any tokens for Kits for
Kids out of the Daily Record/ Sunday Mail,
- his
football team have been successful in being selected for this scheme. They
have to get 4800 tokens in order to get a set of football
-
strips.
I would be
grateful if you would keep any of these tokens for me and hand them to any
member of 117 in order that I can collect them.
This offer
starts on 21st of March brethren.
May I thank
you for your support in this.

St. Vincent, Sandyford 553
On Sunday 2nd September 2007 the RWM and Sen Steward of
Lodge St. Vincent, Sandyford No. 553, along with 1000s of other bravehearts
battled the streets of Glasgow in the Great Scottish Run.
Brother
David Bennett RWM, and Brother Andy Patterson Sen. Steward, once again ran
the ½ marathon course in support of the Yorkhill Hospital for Sick Children.
In what is becoming an annual outing for the hardy pair, they hoped to
surpass the £600 raised for the hospital in 2006. When added to the £200
raised at the previous weekend’s Lodge Golf Invitational it is expected a
substantial sum will be presented to the Hospital’s Charity Co-ordinator
Joan MacLeod. When asked for a post race comment, and having got his breath
back, Brother David acclaimed the run, which they completed in 2 hours 5
mins, as a wonderful vehicle for raising funds for a cause very close to his
heart. He thanked everyone who sponsored Andy, who has completed the event
on no fewer than 10 occasions, and himself, for their generous support.
