OES Star Homes Page
Order of the Eastern Star for the aged front entrance.
On October 10th, 1992 the first resident Sister Winifred O'Dell was
wheeled through the doors of the Star Gradens at Beaudesert. This
was the new location for the Home as the site at Clayfield (Brisbane)
had reached a point where a relocation was required.
Star Gardens consists of 16 Hostel Units, 9 high care Hostel Units
and 28 high care Special Needs Units.
A dedicated staff of over 50 are required to perform the daily care
of the residents.
The Star Gardens are owned by The Order of the Eastern Star Homes
for the Aged Inc and managed on their behalf by Centres for
Retirement Living, one of the regions of Blue Care of the Uniting
Church here in Queensland.
The philosophy is to provide the highest quality to the residents of the
home, catering for their physiological, psychological, spiritual and
environmental needs to benefit them by incurring a fuller, interesting
and more enjoyable life.
In November 1997 Beau-View Chapter was instituted so that members
of the Order who were residents at the Star Gardens could attend
chapter. At present 8 of the residents are members and of these 5
attend Chapter every month.
