McKee Lodge Renovations

Brethren,

As most of you know the city of London has been undergoing a face lift over the past few years. This restoration is to make London more appealing to the eye and to transform it into one of the most beautiful downtown areas in the state. Most of this renovation work is being done through a matching funds grant program being sponsored by the city of London and several non profit heritage beautification organizations.

The trustees of McKee Lodge have proposed that we should take advantage of this opportunity to do some much needed structural repairs and to keep McKee Lodge as a center piece of the community by doing a face lift on the front of our building.

By a vote of the lodge, the trustees have applied for a renovations grant but as mentioned before these are dollar for dollar matching grants. The Officers and Trustees feel that every brother should have the opportunity to share in this project. There will also be changes to the side and back, these changes will be done mostly for the structural integrity of the building, which most of you are aware has become unstable over the years for one reason or another. Brother and Past Master Kenneth Arterburn will be the construction manager on this project if the lodge proceeds with the renovation.

This renovation can proceed with the help of the brethren. In the past Brethren have always stepped forward, when called upon to help, aid and assist their lodge with different building projects, whether it was a new roof , chairs, kitchen appliances or furniture, now we ask for your help again.

Any brother making a donation of $100 to the renovation project will have his name placed on a plaque displayed in the lobby showing his support. Donations of $500 will also receive a certificate of appreciation suitable for framing. Donations of $1000 or more in addition to having their name placed on the lobby plaque will also receive an individual plague acknowledging them as a “McKee Lodge Master Builder”. Each donation will also entitle you and your family to attend a special awards dinner to be held in the lodge dining hall upon the dedication of the renovation work.

We hope that all the membership will contribute in some way to this project and help keep McKee Lodge a beautiful centerpiece in the community for future generations to come just as our forefathers have done for the past 166 years.

God Bless you all,
Fraternally Thine,

Clifton Lawson - Master
