Huckleberry Frolic First Nassau Masonic District held its first event on June 12, 2010 at the Huckleberry Frolic in East Rockaway. This was done accomplished under the direction of the co-chairman for the district:  Bro. John T. Hansen and W∴ Marc P. Lapinel.   There were several key individuals whose help ensured the success of the event.   R∴W∴ Larry Gordon, R∴W∴ Bud Prout, Lorrie Gordon and the help of several members of our team including Bro. Michael Prior of Lynbrook-Massapequa Lodge, and Bro. Cecil Frank from Spartan Lodge as well as our own DDGM R∴W∴ George J. Saar.  We had a pleasant visit from our past DDGM R∴W∴ Alan Gellar.  We had two young ladies from Sunrise Triangle, Liz Hijny and Jillian Stephan, and look forward to future events with their added support of the district.

Seventythree children were processed, a substantial increase from the forty children that we were told that the team had done last year.  I am happy to say that there were two promising leads for additional venues that I will investigate for future programs.

I also want to thank Lorrie Gordon and Holly Lapinel for their support and hard work.  All in all, I am glad to report that the team functioned well and we are on our way towards our goal of becoming an asset to the Masonic Community.
