David Maiden in the Hospital
Prophets, after our Pot Luck today I was informed through
David Kick that David Maiden has been admitted into
University Hospital's ICU he has a Brain Tumor the size of a
dime, which is causing problems with his Blood Pressure.
Please Keep David and Nancy Maiden in your thoughts and
prayers, at this time he is not allowed visitors. When he is
permitted visitors we will update you here.

Summer Kick-Off Pot Luck
Today is our Summer Pot Luck at 4pm the Grotto will
provide the dogs and burgers and we ask you to please bring
a dish to share. We hope to see you there!

Prophet At Sight Ceremony at Achbar
Your Monarch and Venerable Prophet
travelled together on Sunday to Achbar Grotto to see Most
Worshipful Grand Master Ronald Winnet, Grand Master of all
Masons in Ohio and Right Worshipful Grand Junior Warden Brad
Gobel made Prophets At Sight into Achbar and Caliph Grottoes
respectively. It was a good time and a nice chance to meet
our Grand Master.

Past Monarch's Night where we honored the Past Monarchs of
El Rey Grotto. Honored on the 9th were PM Larry Meadows Sr.

Thank you to all of
our Past Monarchs for making El Rey the great place it is!
OGA Spring Meeting
At the OGA meeting in May your Monarch
James Tournas was nominated for the OGA Sentinel position
for the OGA Officers Line, Please come out and support him
in August as now all dues paying members are able to vote.

MWB Winnet will be made a Prophet at
Sight at Achbar Grotto on May 18th along with the RW Gobel

Ohio Grotto Association Spring
Meeting
We are just back from the OGA Meeting in
Mentor Ohio hosted by Caliph Grotto, where we enjoyed Good
Fellowship with President Tom Richards and The other OGA
Officers as well as officers from other Grottoes around our
Association, We learned a lot from PGM Bernie Mitchell about
Membership and again discussed the OGA Dues change which
will be voted on in August.
There were two nominations for the OGA
line, PM Larry Budd from Islam Grotto and your own Monarch
James Tournas from El Rey.
We will have some pictures up soon. A big
thank you to SCDD PM Todd Lusher, Master of Ceremonies Carl
Carlson & Venerable Prophet David Kick for coming out to the
event.

Monarch's Night
We are heading into May now and with it
comes our Past Monarch's Night on May 9th at our Stated
Session our Past Monarchs will be honored by the Grotto for
the continued support you show El Rey.
I hope this may become an annual event
and I truly hope it is well received. So If you haven't been
out the Grotto in awhile and are a PM this is the meeting to
attend! We hope to see all our Past Monarchs out for this

David J. Nye DeMolay Visitation
Wow,
what a turn out we had at the DeMolay meeting on the 20th.
14 El Rey Grotto Prophets and 25 total Master Masons! This
is truly wonderful. Thank you all for such an amazing night
I know the boys appreciate our support and I thank you for
helping to present the gift to the Chapter. Perhaps we will
get some new Prophets out of the event. I know I handed out
some Pocket Petitions to the Masons present.
We were able to get a Masonic Attendance
Service Bar for their newest member Garrett. Hopefully we
may be able to do it again!
And for the other Grottoes in the Realm
this is a great event to support your local youth body and
to get your Grotto's name out there and recruit new members!
Please come out on May 16th to Ely
Stadium to help with the setup for the Special Smiles Booth.
This is a great chance to see our donations at work
Prophets! We are looking for Prophets to show around 8am
(with your Fez) clean up should be done by 2pm that
afternoon.

On my clicks through the internet in search of new Grotto

What we have here is Brother Dustin
Tarditi of Raleigh NC who is in the beginning stages of
trying to institute a Grotto, the closest Grotto to him is
actually our newest Grotto Nubia Grotto in New Bern NC!
Please do whatever you can to help this Brother start a
brand new Grotto!

Hyperbaric Center for Children
Selama Grotto in St. Petersburg Florida
is in the process of building it's Hyperbaric Service into a
full treatment center. There have been amazing things done
with this treatment and I think El Rey should look into to
becoming a part of this amazing effort. The official website

The Chambers are used effectively to
treat everything from Cerebral Palsy to Brain Damage to
Diabetes. Below is a video showing the treatment on a brain
damaged young man.
April's meeting was our Fish Fry and
we had some visitors from Caliph which travelled out to our
meeting with Prophet Greg Kita who gave a DeMolay
presentation. He also informed us that we are allowed to
wear our Fezzes to the DeMolay meeting.
David J Nye DeMolay Meeting
On April 20th El Rey Grotto has an
official Visitation to David J Nye Chapter. We need to have
10 Prophets out to this event that are not D.A.D.s or on the
DeMolay Board.
I know El Rey can do this! So far we have
6 members committed to attend we just need four more
We will be wearing our Fezzes and we will
also be able to present the Chapter with a small gift from
the Grotto.
