I have just been informed that Prophet
Phillip Puffer passed away last October.
Prophet Seth Maiden very unexpectedly
passed away, please keep David and Nancy in your prayers.
PM Herman Smith bleed out in June, he
spent 4 days in the ICU and nearly passed away.
Prophet Ed Phelps had Glacoma surgery
last week.
Lady Carol Cazzarin will have foot
surgery this Friday.

Humanitarian Foundation Dinner
August 30th 2008 at Oberlin Masonic
Temple 3pm - All profits we support the Humanitarian
Foundation, tickets our 8 dollars for a 6 oz. Steak Burger
(post cook weight) and trimmings. There are still tickets
available and can be purchased from any officer of the
Grotto.

Mason Night

Today is the day, El Rey Grotto's Master Mason Night at
The Oberlin Inn www.oberlininn.com Officers
remember to wear your white Grotto Shirt and dark slacks. Officers please
arrive no later then 5pm, the doors will open at 6pm for our cocktail hour,
dinner will be served at 7pm.
We should have a very nice turn out
tonight, so lets show those Masons that the Grotto is the
place they want to spend there free time.
All guests are invited up to the
Hospitality Room which will be opened at 9:30pm

Sick and Welfare
We have two Prophets that are currently
ill,
Prophet Rob Hennes is suffering from an
allergic reaction to a bee sting and was unable to attend
the July Session.
Prophet Dan Walker was in a Motorcycle
accident and will need surgery on his shoulder. He is not
reacting well to his medicine and was unable to stay for our
meeting.
Please keep these Prophets in your
thoughts and prayers.

We will be having burgers and hotdogs
prior to our Stated Meeting, at which Grand Monarch Robert
Pool and Deputy Grand Monarch Clarence 'Pierre' Shawver will
be in attendance. The Meal will be served at 6pm.
Officers where your Blue Grotto Shirts to our meeting and
the White Grotto Shirt to the Master Mason Night with dark slacks
Guests and Prophets please where slacks and a polo shirt
to our meeting and Master Mason Night.

also be our Key Note Speaker on July 12th at the Master
Mason Night at The Oberlin Inn. Deputy

in attendance both nights

June & July Officer's Meetings
We will hold a special Officer's meeting
on Wed June 25th at 6:30pm at Oberlin Masonic Temple.
Officers please be in attendance we will be making the final
arrangements for our Master Mason Night. We will also be
holding a practice at this meeting. Our July Officer's
Meeting fell on July 4th so we have moved that to Monday
July 7th, this is the Monday prior to our Stated Session at
which the Grand Monarch will be in attendance.
Humanitarian Foundation Dinner
Tickets are now available for the Dinner,
The cost is 8 dollars and tickets may be obtained from any
El Rey Grotto Officer.
August OGA Convention & El Rey
Hospitality Room.
El Rey has graciously agreed to host a
Hospitality Room at the OGA Convention in support of our
Monarch James Tournas's bid for the OGA Sentinel Position.
If you can donate any refreshments, it would be very much
appreciated.
El Rey has only had 2 Presidents of the
OGA, the OGA was created in 1925 since then PM, PPOGA Franz
Hausser in 1961 and PM PPOGA Arthur Leutz in 1971 have been
from El Rey. You may see all of the Past Presidents here

This year we have our Monarch running for
the OGA line and El Rey should be there to support him on
August 16th at 10am for the vote in Mentor Ohio. Information
on the Convention will be posted
here when it becomes
available.
New Pavilion to be erected at
Oberlin Masonic Temple
El Rey Grotto jointly with Oberlin
Masonic Temple and Oberlin Masonic Lodge agreed to help
erect a Small Pavilion outside of Oberlin Temple. The Grotto
will have free access to using this pavilion.
David Maiden Update
David is out of the hospital and is back
up and walking around, We where glad to see him at our June
Stated Session.
George Fehlner Update
George was unable to attend our June
Session he is on some antibiotics and he is not adjusting to
them that well.

Stated Session
We will have a Fish Fry from 5pm - 7:15pm
prior to our meeting on Friday,
Officers please be ready to practice our
opening and closing. We will also be voting on some
important items.
Humanitarian Foundation Dinner
We will have a fundraising dinner for the
Humanitarian Foundation Dinner on August 30th at 3:00pm,
Tickets will be $8.00 and limited to 96 total tickets.
Please see an officer of El Rey Grotto to purchase your
tickets and help support our Foundation as the Supreme
Council Mandate demands. The dinner will feature "The Best
Burgers west of the Cuyahoga"
There will be some fun and games at the
Dinner as well so be sure to come on out for this special
afternoon!

Yesterday the 118th Supreme Council
Session in Hot Springs AR officially opened. Our own SCDD
Todd Lusher PM, and Venerable Prophet David Kick are
attending representing El Rey Grotto.

David
Maiden Update
David has been moved out of the ICU at University, the new
information I obtained is that he suffered a brain bleed
which caused a stroke, he has limited movement on one side.
I understand he is allowed phone calls at this time. David
Kick spoke with David and he informs me that the best time
to speak with him is early in the day. You may call David at

Please Keep David and Nancy Maiden in your thoughts and
prayers.
Further Update on David Maiden06.01.08 5:30pm
I have been informed by Brother Bob Baus that he spoke with
David and he is feeling much better now. David says he is
suppose to go home on Tuesday and is currently up and
walking with a walker. Even so continue to keep the Maidens
in your thoughts and prayers.
June Executive Board Moved
Due to Supreme Council we have moved our Executive Board
Meeting to June 9th, which is this coming Monday. Officers
please attend as we will be practicing our parts (The
Speaking parts in our opening and closing need to be in
attendance at this meeting.)
New Petition Received!
David Kick turned in another petition, El Rey just keeps
getting stronger! I encourage all the Prophets to talk to
their Brethren about The Grotto
June's Stated Session
We will again be having a FISH FRY! prior to our session!
The Prophet's, Ladies and guests of El Rey had a great time
at our Pot Luck, we had a smaller then usual turn out due to
the holiday and graduations but those who made it out all
had a blast and I was informed by a number of people that
this was there Memorial Day Picnic this year.
Center Pieces from the Pot Luck, each and every Lady present
got to take one home!
