Dear Brother,
It’s hard to believe we are now in 2003. It seems only yesterday I was being initiated and learning the catechisms, but time flies when you’re having fun. Between the ice storm, the holidays, and now the beginning of the new year, I am sure we have all been extremely busy. It is good to know that our brothers came through the storm without serious problems and that our community, both Eagle Lodge and Hillsborough, pull together and help each other in a time of need.
In this first newsletter of 2003, I would like to thank you for the honor you have bestowed upon me; that of being Master for 2003. It is my hope that I can return that honor to you by maintaining and growing the Lodge during this year. I would like to take this opportunity to share with you some of the things that are coming up in the next few months.
- Early in February we will go to the Masonic Home in Oxford and present a $5,000 check from the 2002 barbecue and Brunswick stew sale. This is a wonderful gift, and I want to share my heartfelt thanks with all who helped make it happen.
- We should be having a 2nd degree in February and we want you to attend (for details please contact Bob Patten).
- Look for upcoming changes to our web site at www.mastermason.com/eagle19/.
- We will host a School of Instruction in mid-March. Look for more details as we set the date and begin preparing for this wonderful event. We will be planning a workday at the Lodge so that it can be well cleaned for our visiting brethren. It has been years since this event has been held at our Lodge and I am looking forward to it. Look for details in our next newsletter.
- The Rainbow girls will hold their installation on February 2nd at 2 p.m. I am sure they would be delighted for any Master Mason to attend. For more details please contact Esther Wheeley at 732-4846.
Remember, brother, we meet the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 7:30 p.m. We want to see you. If you need a ride to the Lodge, please call any of us.
