Who We Are

Freemasonry is the oldest and largest fraternity in the world.  The fraternity strives to make good men better through the allegorical use of tools of the operative mason to teach high moral principles.  At the center of this teaching is a common belief of the members in the tenets of FAITH, HOPE and CHARITY.

On March 15, 1850, members of Macon Lodge No. 8 petitioned the Grand Lodge of Illinois to start DeWitt Lodge.  A charter was granted on October 8, 1850 for DeWitt Lodge 84.  Since 1994, the Masonic Bodies have occupied the building at 926 East Main Street in Clinton.
