Battle of 1812

Mississinewa Battlefield was the site of the first victory of the United States Army during the War of 1812, on December 7-18, 1812, when a 600-man mounted force led by Lt. Col. John B. Campbell attacked and destroyed four British-allied Indian villages.

At the Mississenewa Battle of 1812, the first American soldier to fall was a man by the name of Bennoni Pierce, a Mason from the state of Ohio.

Several years ago, a tradition was started to do a Funeral Rite during the Battle of 1812 festival in Brother Pierce's memory. This Funeral Rite is conducted in attire that Masons would have been seen wearing in 1812.

This year, Converse Lodge #601 was asked to conduct the ritual. The ritual was done so well, that we have been asked to do it again next year!

We will need anywhere from 8-20 members to participate in order to do justice to the ritual.

Pictures and video from last years ritual will be coming soon!!!!!!!
