Greetings to all my Sisters and Brothers:

On April 5th we had our installation of officers and it was beautiful. We have a complete corps of officers and I am looking forward to working with each one.

At our first meeting, we balloted on two new candidates for the degrees and also on Sister Millie Hydrick (Gaston 230) as a dual member. We really appreciate Sister Millie, a faithful member to her home chapter, and we know she will be an asset to us.

At our meeting in May we will initiate two Rainbow Girls. One is the daughter of our Conductress, Sister Amanda Cruse I thank the chapter for electing me to serve as Worthy Matron this year. I will do all that I can to make this year special. Thank you, Brother Dave, for serving as our Worthy Patron. I couldn't do it without your help.

We have decided to re-start our social gatherings. We will eat out every other month. On May 15th, we will meet at FATZ Cafe on Forest Drive at 6:30 PM. It is located off Forest Drive across from Sam's club. Every member and the officers and their traveling partners are invited. But please let me or Bro. Dave know if you plan to come. We need a "head count" so we can reserve enough spaces.

To Sister Texa and Brother Ed: You did an outstanding job last year. You accomplished a lot of good things and we appreciate everything that you did. Our chapter has a lot going for it and you two kept things alive & well. We are proud of our chapter and the two of you. Thank you for what you continue to do for the chapter.

Practice on Sunday, May 18 @ 3:00PM @ Cayce Masonic lodge. Please plan to be there.

Betty Martin, PM, Worthy Matron

Sisters and Brothers,

It is my pleasure to serve as Worthy Patron for Cayce Chapter. Each year is a new beginning and together, Betty and I pledge our selves to you and to the chapter, to make this year a great one. We do, indeed, have a great corps of officers who are enthusiastic and truly want to do good work.

We have challenged each of them to do their very best and we believe that they plan to do just that. We will initiate at the May meeting. There are two impressionable young ladies coming into our chapter and we want it to be a beautiful experience for them.

Bro. Dave

Report on the Installation

On April 5th we had an open installation of officers. We were pleased to have Brother Paul Shealy, PGP, as our Installing Officer. Serving with him as Marshal was our own PGP, Brother Harold Munn.

Sister Carolyn Brown, PM of Lexington No. 176 was Installing Conductress, Brother Ray Wilson, PP of Sandy Run No. 230 was Installing Chaplain and Sister Dot Kneece, PM of Pelion No. 225 was our Installing Organist. Sister Dot, alone, made it worth the "price of admission". She has magic fingers. Each of these was chosen for a special reason. We have a lot of love and respect for every one of them.

(I have served the Grand Chapter as a Grand Officer with Paul, Harold and Carolyn, and I never give up a chance to hear Dot play the piano. Brother Ray Wilson has been a friend for the whole time I have been in the Order. Bro. Dave)

It was a stormy, threatening day but we had a great crowd. One of our officers is brand new in the Order. Brother Ron Newton was installed as Marshal. He has only been in a short while and he has shown really good enthusiasm. Way to go Ron!

We had to wait until our April meeting to install our Adah, Ruth Spencer. She is worth waiting for though.

*******************************************************************Lest we forget: Our people in service;

Many of our OES family members are, or have been, in harms way in Iraq and Afghanistan. We are thankful for the ones who are home safely and continue to pray for God's grace for all of our people in service to our country.
