Advancement of Learing.

It is recently reported that on 15th July, Thursday in the town of Calcutta the foundation stone of a Muhammedan Madrasa or school has been laid and the Europeans belonging to the sect of Masonry assembled at the house known as Grand 'Lord' (Lodge) at No. 38 Park Street, went from there in (Masonic) order with music and laid the main foundation stone of that school. After this the religious head of that sect prayed to the All-creating, All-pervading God in that connection. Afterwards he prayed for God's blessings and put on it (the stone) Corn, Wine and Oil (contained) in a silver cup. At that time many people of the town assembled at that place to witness the act.
