28th February 1824-17 Phalgun 1230 B. S.

Laying the (foundation) stone of the Sanskrit College. - On Wednesday 25 February in the afternoon the foundation stone was laid on the site which was being made ready for the educational institution called the Sanskrit College. It is reported that (the members) of the sect known as Freemasons which exists among persons professing the Christian faith, came there on foot with eclat, wearing their respective robes according to rules and accompanied by English band of music to perform that ceremony.
