Robert Hunter Morris was appointed (1738) chief justice of New Jersey by his father. A Proprietor of the Province of East Jersey 1742. Colonial Governor of the Province of Pennsylvania 1754-56. Chief Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court 1738-54 & 1758-64.
