E. Burd Grubb
 (1841-1913)

Business Executive, who managed family iron ore deposits and pig iron furnaces in Dauphin, Lancaster, and Lebanon Counties, in Pennsylvania. First Sergeant May 1861, later Captain, 23rd Regt., New Jersey Infantry, United States Volunteers, at the battle of Chancellorsville, Va., in 1863. Colonel, 37th Regt., New Jersey Infantry, U.S.V., at the battle of Petersburg, Va., in 1864. Brevet Brigadier General, U.S.V., March 13, 1865, for "gallant and meritorious service before Petersburg." U.S. Minister to Spain 1890-92.
