John Ward Dusmore
 (1856-1945)

An artist who specialized in paintings and historical scenes of the American Revolution, including "The Petition" painting of the Masonic gathering at Morristown, N.J., December 27, 1779, on permanent exhibition at the Historical Museum, Morristown. Director of The Detroit Museum of Art 1888-90, and The Detroit School of Arts 1890-94. His paintings hang on exhibition in The New York Historic Society and The Cincinnati Museum of Art.
