On this day in 1717 the Freemasons were founded in London, England.

On this day in 1754, Mason and General George Washington began construction of Fort Necessity to protect his forces from French Soldiers.

On this day in 1865 Robert E. Lee was named general in Chief of the Confederate Armies. All though many lodges bare the name of Robert E. Lee there is no evidence to support that he was ever a member of the Masonic Fraternity.

At approximately 4:00 AM on this day in 1896, Mason and Inventor Henry Ford unveils his newly invented Quadricycle. This is the first automobile that he ever designed or drove. He drove the vehicle thru the streets of Detroit, Michigan at 4:00 AM in the morning.

On this day in 1934 Mason and President Franklin Delano Roosevelt ask congress to appropriate 52.5 million dollars to battle economic and social disaster in the American Midwest caused in part by a series of droughts in the Great Plains Region.

On this day in 1940 says "We shall fight on the seas and oceans"

On this day in 1950, Mason and President Harry S. Truman announced that he had ordered development of the hydrogen bomb.
