Message from the Worshipful Master:

Brethren,

Greetings from the East.

We are having a pot luck dinner May 2nd at 6:30pm before the Stated Meeting.  The ladies are invited.  Victory will provide the meats and beverages.  RWB George Tilden and his wife Gloria will provide dessert, which will be served after the meeting.  You are asked to bring a covered dish to share.

Victory Lodge will be sponsoring some baskets for Lady Linda's Wish List.  Lady Linda is the wife of the Grand Master of Ohio, Ronald L. Winnett.  The Wish List is her project to support the three Masonic Homes in Ohio.  After the dinner while the men are upstairs for the Stated Meeting, the ladies will be discussing idea's for the baskets that will be auctioned off at a dinner in Columbus, on September 13th 2008.  to which all Masons and their wives are welcome to attend.

May 2nd, we will be voting for and installing a new Secretary.  Please plan to attend and support him.

Fraternally,

-Terry Regenos,
Worshipful Master

Did You Know?

The origin of the term "Fellow Craft"?

The term "Fellow" has a long and distinguished history, most commonly used to denote that one is of a higher status than just being a member of some organization.

In the guilds from which we believe Masonry arose, a "Fellow of the Craft" had roughly the same status as a journeyman would have today.  When Masonry had only one Degree there was a section, known as the "Fellow's Part", which was conferred on those who had shown a mastery of the material of the Apprentice Degree.

What is the significance of the Northeast corner?

The symbolism of the Northeast corner is taken from the ancient custom of laying the cornerstone in the Northeast corner.  He who stands there in the lodge, "a just and upright Mason," is the cornerstone of the lodge that will be.  A lodge is erected not only by but upon her sons.  The Entered Apprentice of today is the veteran Mason and lodge member of tomorrow.
