District No. 5  The meeting of S.D. Masonic District 5 will be Monday, October 30, at the Highland Laddie in Watertown at 6:30 p.m. Senior Grand Warden Al Wahlert of Mitchell announced the informal session will begin with a no-host social hour at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. from the menu at the Highland Laddie restaurant and brew pub in Watertown. Wives and guests who may be interested in Masonry are invited to the session hosted by Concord Lodge 13, W.M. Bill Dempsey. There will be a 15 percent discount on food (not drinks) for Masons, friends and family attending the district meeting. District Master Milo Dailey of Watertown said MW Bro. Wahlert told him the meeting will be for district fellowship and to encourage Lodge members throughout District 5 to enjoy their Masonry with family and friends. District 5 includes Lodges throughout Roberts, Grant, Codington, Clark, Deuel and Hamlin Counties. MW Wahlert said all Masons, family and friends from throughout the region are invited to attend. "We believe Masons today can use a reminder that we are the world's largest fraternity," he said, "and that means letting the community see why our values are as alive today as throughout the history of the Craft." --- Brothers who are members of Philalethes may note the Laddie has a nice collection of single malt libations of the Caledonian variety ranging from Islay to Highland and Speyside.

There will also be a short description of the Saturday, Nov. 11, Masonic events at Fort Sisseton State Historical Park hosted by the park and the Frontier Army Lodge of Masonic Research #1875 of the two Dakotas -- a great fun opportunity for all Masons in the region.

It will de hosted by Coteau Lodge No. 54 and held at the Masonic Temple on Tuesday, October 17, 2000.  It will be an open meeting with Right Worshipful Brother Charles N. Kaufman, Deputy Grand Master - Grand Master Elect as the Grand Lodge Visitor and principle speaker.  Lunch will be served following the meeting.  Again it is an open meeting and will start at 8:00 PM.

District No. 8 will meet on Thursday October 19, 2000 at the Masonic Center in Aberdeen, SD This will be a TYLED Meeeting that will open @ 7:30 Pm Pas will be taken up in similar fashion as at Grand Lodge. RW brother Charles N. Kaufman, Deputy Grand Master-Grand Master Elect will be the principal Speaker.

District No. 9 will hold an open meeting at the Masonic Lodge in Raymond, SD on Wednesday October 18, 2000. Meeting will begin @ 8:00 PM and refreshments will be served. RW Brother Charles N.
