LAY CORNERSTONE TODAY FOR CATHEDRAL FOR SCOTTISH RITE

 

GRAND LODGE OFFICERS TO ATTEND FEATURE EVENT OF MASONIC REUNION

 

 

          OFFICERS OF THE GRAND LODGE OF LOUISIANA WILL ATTEND TODAY’S EXERCISES OF THE TENTH REUNION OF THE BODIES OF THE ANCIENT AND ACCEPTED SCOTTISH RITE IN THE VALLEY OF SHREVEPORT, THE FEATURE OF WHICH WILL BE THE LAYING OF THE CORNERSTONE OF THE SCOTTISH RITE CATHEDRAL AT COTTON AND COMMON STREETS.

 

          TODAY’S PROGRAM FOLLOWS:

 

          SELECTION – CHOIR

         

          INVOCATION – REV. JASPER K. SMITH.

 

          MUSIC (SELECTED) – CHOIR

 

          SEALING CASKET BY THE GRAND TREASURER BEFORE DEPOSITING IN CORNERSTONE.

 

          LAYING OF CORNERSTONE ACCORDING TO THE RITUAL OF THE FREE AND ACCEPTED MASONS OF LOUISIANA, CONDUCTED BY B. B. PURSER, ACTING MOST WORSHIPFUL GRAND MASTER.

 

          TESTING AND CONSECRATION OF STONE.

 

          MUSIC – “STAR SPANGLED BANNER.”

 

          ORATION – HON. CHAS. F. BUCK, PAST GRAND MASTER

 

          MUSIC – “AMERICA.”

 

          BENEDICTION – REV. M. E. DODD.

 

          WHEN COMPLETED, THE BUILDING WILL REPRESENT AN OUTLAY OF $150,000.  THE FOUNDATIONS ARE ALREADY IN PLACE AND WORK ON THE STRUCTURE WILL BE RESUMED WITHIN 30 DAYS.

 

          SEVENTY-FIVE CANDIDATES TOOK THE FOURTH TO THE FOURTEENTH MASONIC DEGREES YESTERDAY AND THE EUREKA CHAPTER OF ROSE CROIX NO. 12, WILL ADMINISTER THE FIFTEENTH TO THE SEVENTEENTH DEGREES INCLUSIVE, TODAY.
