FROM THE EAST
Brethren:
In the spirit of the Bicentennial, and with the approach of President's day, I thought it would be fitting to devote this space to the legacy of George Washington.
George Washington was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on August 4, 1753 in Fredericksburg Lodge #4 in Fredericksburg Virginia. On December 20, 1788 he was elected Master of Fredericksburg Lodge, and on April 30, 1789 he was inaugurated as the first President of the United States. Washington was the first and so far the only President to also simultaneously serve as Master of his lodge. George Washington's legacy as the father of our country will never be rivaled. From crossing the Delaware to laying the cornerstone of the Capital Building, Freemasonry played a very large role in that legacy.
We are truly blessed to be a part of a Fraternity with such a rich history.
Fraternally Yours,
Brandon Hoskins
