Become a Master Mason
In One Day ?

Grand Master Fitje has approved and authorized the conferral of all three degrees in one day to be held on March 29, 2003 at nine locations throughout New York State.

Those nine locations are: New York City, Utica, Syracuse, Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Binghamton, Watertown and Long Island.

Previously, Grand Master Fitje had conferred with the Deputy Grand Master, Past Grand Master's, Grand Line Officers, Grand Lecturer and Custodians of the Works. They are in agreement with his decision. The goal for this one day Grand Master's Class is 5,000 new members and will require the support of all Permanent Members, District Supervisors and Masters of Lodges.

Let me give you an update on one day classes in other jurisdictions. Some 61% of Grand Lodges today are doing one day classes and they have all been successful. Some of the states are Vermont who raised 292 in one location, New Jersey 700 in one location, Indiana 1400 in 5 locations and most recently Ohio who raised 7,700 new members in 10 locations. Men that have joined have been professional & business men, Town and City Mayors and in Ohio the great nephew of President Warren G. Harding.

The ritual, as always, will be the responsibility of the Lodge as well as the Investigation process and providing a mentor for proper instruction in regard to Masonic Etiquette, Protocol and Education.

There are still details being worked out, so as I get more information, I'll post it here for your perusal. Also, the Grand Master will send each Master a letter asking for the support of his Lodge. It is imperative that all Freemasons in New York State support this initiative.
