Minoa Chapter # 705

 

A meeting under the leadership of Sister Mary Lewis Smith was held April 21, 1922 by O.E.S. members living in the Minoa area to organize a local chapter to meet in the Minoa Masonic Temple. R.W. Louise Holker, DDGM-Onondaga District, declared Minoa Chapter # 705 organized on May 18, 1922. On October 19, 1922 Minoa Chapter was constituted and given its Charter by M.W. Mildred V. Everson, Grand Matron. M.W. Jess S. Kellog was the Grand Patron. W. Mildred P. Goodelle and W. Floyd J. Terwilliger were installed as the first Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron. All persons who had joined the Chapter by October 19th were declared Charter Members.

 

 

Fayetteville Chapter # 197

 

Fayetteville Chapter # 197 was organized April 10, 1900 by Sister Elizabeth Raymond, a member of Syracuse Chapter # 70. In 1926 the Masons purchased the Beard Homestead at 116 East Genesee Street, Fayetteville. In 1967 this brick Mansion was demolished. The Chapter then met in the Minoa Masonic Temple until their new Temple was dedicated in 1968. The first Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron were W. Alice Steadman and Philitus M. Helfer. The Grand Matron was M.W. Eva Williams and The Grand Patron was M.W. William J. Duncan.

 

 

ONONDAGA CHAPTER # 144

 

Onondaga Chapter # 144 was the second Chapter to be formed in Onondaga District. They first met at 115 East Manlius Street, East Syracuse, which was called the "Peony Block". They assisted in the building of the new Masonic Temple located at 108 Silver Street. Onondaga Chapter # 144's Charter is dated June 9, 1897. W. Mattie Orchard served as the first Worthy Matron and W. Daniel Stryker was the first Worthy Patron. The Grand Matron and Grand Patron were M.W. Ida E. Harrigas and M.W. Edward F. Barnes.

 

FAYETTEVILLE-ONONDAGA

CHAPTER #144

 

The merger of Onondaga Chapter # 144 and Fayetteville Chapter #197 to be known in the future as Fayetteville, Onondaga Chapter #144 was effective January 12, 1988. Meetings were held at the Fayetteville Masonic Temple. M.W. Willma A. Munroe was present on that day for the Installation of Officers and to present their new Charter. The first Worthy Matron was W. Joan Adsitt. However, due to her serious illness, she was not able to be instaled until May 24, 1988. Her husband, W. Harold Adsitt, was the Worthy Patron. The Meetings took place at the Fayetteville Masonic Temple. The Grand Matron and Grand Patron at that time were M.W. Dorothy R. Barton and M.W. Richard A. Wicks

 

 

MINOA-FAYETTEVILLE-ONONDAGA

CHAPTER # 144

 

The merger of Fayetteville-Onondaga Chapter # 144 with Minoa Chapter #705 was effective October 4, 2001. W. Karen Solberg and W. Joseph Kuhl, present Matron and Patron of Minoa Chapter # 705, were designated Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron of the newly formed Chapter. M.W. Wilma A. Munroe was present at this meeting to present the Charter. The meetings are held  in the Minoa Masonic Temple. M. W. Linda A. Angiolillo and M.W. Everett H. Vail were the present Grand Matron and Grand Patron.
