In February of 1997
New Light Lodge No. 27, Ancient Free & Ancient Masons, was Organized and
met under dispensation in Chicago, Illinois. Chartered in September of 1997 by
the Most Worshipful St. James Grand Lodge, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons,
State of Illinois with the purpose of maintaining the tenets of Freemasonry
which are Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth.
New Light Lodge No 27 has
continued to grow in membership and in proficiency….. fast becoming a “Top Six
Lodge” in the State of Illinois. Our desires being to better ourselves,
families and communities by providing Programs, Scholarships and Contributions
from our Charity Fund. An Annual Mother’s Day Brunch has been
successfully hosted by the member’s of this Lodge and continues to grow each
year.
During 2000 and 2001 we have
established and awarded New Light Lodge #27 Alumni Scholarships and
acquired partnerships with several charities. We have focused on raising funds
for Education and Children, by hosting a Bowl-A-Thon, Car Wash, and Candle
Light Bowl. New Light Lodge No 27 also
honors Two Educators each years for their contributions in Freemasonry and/or
with Educating Children.
A special Thanks goes out to the
Sisters, Brothers, Family and Friends that have supported this Lodge and the
Events and Fund-raisers each year. May God continue to bless us all.
