A Message from the Master...

Welcome to our newly redesigned website for those interested in the activities of New Washington Lodge #167.  It is my privilege to again serve in the Oriental Chair for the second consecutive year and a trust that I do not take lightly.  I believe that we have established a fine leadership team that will contribute much to the forward movement of Masonry in New Washington.

Last year was filled with activity and progress in our Lodge, and I have no reason but to expect bigger and better things this year.  We will be placing a strong emphasis on Masonic education and community outreach during this year, as well as trying some different things that we have never tried before.  We should never try to reinvent the wheel, but to reinvest in the work that is known as Freemasonry.  As one of our Past Grand Masters, Dwight L. Smith used to say when asked what was wrong with the state of the Craft  -- "Try Freemasonry!"

My personal goal this year is to bring 3 men through the degrees of Masonry.  The only way that this can happen is if our existing brethren take the message of Masonry out into their communities, their workplaces, and their families.  Masonry stands for nothing that is wrong, yet all that is right.  I firmly believe that men today are looking to associate themselves with organizations that stand for the truths of morality, brotherly love, relief and truth.  We must show our communities that we do provide an avenue whereby men can unite with other men of like character and thus make a difference in our towns, our places of business, our churches, and our homes.

Join me in 2003 by keeping petitions on hand, by keeping a keen ear attuned to a prospective brother's interest, and a gentle tongue that is ever ready and willing to introduce men of the highest standards  to the greatest Fraternity in existence today - the gentle Craft of Freemasonry.  Our Craft has a longstanding tradition of taking only men of the highest integrity and caliber and then making those men better men.  It is our firm belief that Masons should be the leaders of our communities, and demonstrate that leadership through the outward expression of their character and integrity.

If you are a visitor to our page and a member of Lodge in good standing, I cordially invite you to visit us whenever you are in the Clark county area.  We would love to meet you and welcome you to our Lodge.

Fraternally,
Thomas E. Fellows
