5th Districts Traveling Trowel

Welcome to the Traveling Trowel Page.  On Saturday December 15, 2001 at the District No. 5 District Meeting and School of Instruction, District Deputy  Grand
Master Jim Acker, presented to the Lodges in District No. 5 the Traveling Trowel. 

The purpose of the Traveling Trowel is to encourage brethren to visit other Lodges in our District and to help build that stronger brotherly love in our fraternity.

Below is the Log and Rules of the Traveling Trowel.  It will tell you who has it and whence it came.  As the Trowel moves through the 5th District, we will keep this page updated as it travels from Lodge to Lodge.

          Traveling Trowel Rules

The method of transferring the Traveling Trowel will be as follows:

1.) Any Lodge in the 5th District, except the Lodge who last in possession of  the trowel,
      can travel to the Lodge in the District in possession of t
2.) The passing of the Traveling Trowel from one Lodge he Traveling Trowel and claim it.
      to another may be accomplished at any
TILED COMMUNICATION.

3.) The passing of the Traveling Trowel from one lodge to another will be recorded in the
      minutes of the Lodge meeting at which the Trowel is passed.  It should also be recorded
      in the minutes of the receiving Lodge at their next tiled communication, indicating the
      date and place where the trowel was passed.

4.) It is the responsibility of the Lodge who receives the Traveling Trowel to report the fact
      to the District Deputy Grand Master that the Lodge now has possession of the Trowel.

5.) To capture the Traveling Trowel, the visiting Lodge must have a minimum of six
      members at the visitation. At least one of these  visiting Brethren must be an elected
      officer of the Lodge. 

6.) The District Deputy Grand Master of the 5th Masonic District will receive the District
     Traveling Trowel at the Annual District Communication (meeting) from the Lodge
      currently possessing it at the time of the Annual District Communication The District
      Deputy Grand Master is then  responsible for delivering the Traveling Trowel to the
      Worshipful Master of a Lodge that has been randomly chosen to start the new year out
       for Traveling Trowel.
