October 8 thru 11, 2006

San Francisco, CA

The degree will be for the Grand Lodge of California.  Set up your calendar dates.  Preparations are now in full swing for all arrangements for this degree and all of the things that they have in store for us, will be no less than great.  Look out San Francisco wharf the Oklahoma Indians are coming to eat. (Hum buc sha)  Who knows we may even get a ride on the cable cars, wouldn’t that be a kick in the head a cable car load of Indians from Oklahoma.

Show and Tell
We have accumulated a lot of memorabilia from across the pond. This exhibit was displayed at the Catoosa Lodge on a Family night and was well received by all who attended. There is talk that it may travel with us to some of our degrees. All you have to do is make your request to Director Butch McIntosh.

The Oklahoma Masonic Indian Degree Team was organized in the late 1950's. The team consists of 15 active members, 11 of which are Past Masters.

Nine recognized tribes are represented: Apache, Cherokee, Choctaw, Creek, Oneida, Osage, Ottawa, Seminole, and Sycamore.

States visited include: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachuettes, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York and Texas.

Oklahoma lodges represented are: Catoosa Lodge #185, Cherokee #10, Delta #425, Daylight #542, Dustin #336, Ottawa #492, Sapulpa #170 and Skiatook #416.

While the team welcomes telephone inquiries, they will only confirm written requests from a lodge. Written requests are honored by the earliest postmark. Occasionally they will have requests for the same date.

In the State of Oklahoma the team does not require travel expenses. They do however, accept contributions to offset their expenses.

When they travel out of state, they ask the host lodge to furnish their transportation, lodging and meal expenses.
