Third Degree

Craft Freemasonry is not a Secret Society as the detractors always state but is a Society with secrets, these secrets are the various ways that freemasons can know one another. The secrets are also used to protect the privileges restricted to the members of the Order.

Craft Freemasonry is divided into 3 degrees, the 1st or Entered Apprentice Freemason Degree, the 2nd of Fellowcraft Freemason Degree and the 3rd or the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason.

It is the starting point for all other Masonic Orders as you need to be a Master Mason before becoming a member of any of the other orders in Freemasonry (If I have stated this incorrectly, please email me with corrections. I will make any amendments).

The Entered Apprentice Degree is the starting point of Craft Freemasonry as this is the degree wherein a man is made a Freemason.
