The Knights of St Andrews

Valley of Ft. Myers, Orient of Florida, AASR SJ

Since the beginning of the 21st century Masons all over the country have been asking themselves what is wrong with Masonry, today? Membership is down;  and worse, participation is also down. What happened? Some men say  “The work is just to hard and we just don't have time for the Lodge”. Some Brothers will tell you “Masonry is out of date, it’s just not relevant today”.

We all know that’s just not true. So what is it? Could it be that Masonry has become “Not Fun”?

Well, 32nd Degree Masons (KCCH and 33rd Degree are not eligible for active membership) in the Valley of Ft. Myers have been challenged to "make Masonry fun again"!

This group is to be called “The Knights of St Andrews of the Valley of Ft. Myers”. The Knights, with the support of the leadership of the Valley of Ft. Myers, will take up the holy grail of Masonry, to become the premier service, support and 'fun' group at the Valley of Ft. Myers.

Although the final plan is not yet completed we are considering quarterly meetings, knighting ceremonies and ''nights of merriment' along with other projects beneficial to the Rite. Your ideas are sought and eagerly welcomed. As a Master of the Royal Secret you have a unique opportunity to apply for membership, and if accepted, help revitalize and guide the Valley of Ft. Myers into the next century.

You have the opportunity to be a founding member and help set the foundation for the Knights of St Andrews.  You will be involved in making this organization a vital and fun part of Scottish Rite Masonry.  But be advised; Knighthood must be earned by deeds not words! You must be prepared to pledge your services to revitalize interest in the Rite, (and have some fun doing it!).

To be a Knight of St Andrew is a distinction you will be proud of. Membership will be by application and only members who are willing to take the obligation and make the commitment to the Rite will be honored with ascension to Knighthood.

So, Brother, are you prepared to heed the call?  Are you prepared to help us write the history of the Knights of St Andrews of the Valley of Ft Myers?
