Objects for identification

I have recently been given these two sterling silver jewels and am curious as to their significations. If any Brother can provide information I would appreciate it. Mark Phillips.

	This is clearly a Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution jewel, but what does it signify and why was it issued? It has a pin on the reverse to enable it to be worn as a brooch. Click here to reply.
