History

Organized June 16, 1987

Companions James Jones, Fred Johnson, and Raymond Pryor, respectively were the first Grand High Priest, Grand King, and Grand Scribe of Haggai Grand Chapter.

Chartered August 30, 1988

Chartered by the Most Excellent Supreme Grand Royal Arch Chapter of the Southern and Western Masonic Jurisdiction of the United States of America and Canada.

Currently

Companion Billy L. Cain was elected as the Most Excellent Grand High Priest in June of 2001. He has taken the Grand Chapter to the next level of Capitular Masonry. He and his Grand Officers have Chartered a new Royal Arch Chapter, and hosted impressive Initiations for new Companions during 2002. Under his leadership the membership in Illinois has increased nearly two-fold. He has also set Committees to work to accomplish much needed task. Among those goals and objectives are the revision of the Constitution and By-Laws, the restoration of Regalia and Banners, and Ritualistic Study. Haggai Grand Chapter is definitely an exemplary York Rite body, and is expected to continue to move forward with the commitment and dedication of the current leadership.
