Friday- September 8th, 2000    Hosted by- Middletown Commandery #71

Officers Present:
              (all Sir Knights) James Shew- 1st VP, Billy Lucas- 2nd VP, Michael Payton- Reorder/Treas., Lloyd Bradshaw- (PDDC) Prelate.

Past CTA Presidents Present:
                   Joseph Atkinson Jr., Richard Holcombe, Norman Lincoln, Michael Payton, Robert Richter, & Robert Williams.

The meeting was opened by 1st VP James Shew, with an opening prayer by SK Lloyd Bradshaw.

DEPUTY DIVISION COMMANDER'S REPORT:

          Ther being no old business to discuss, the mmeting moved directly into the Deputy Division Commander.   SK Robert Williams DDC, discussed the upcoming year.  He reviewed several areas in both the tactics and ritual that he felt needed special emphasis this year.

     SK Williamd with the assistance of Middletown Commandery then illustrated the "Officer's of the West".  After the presentation he offered a critique & requested questions from the various SK's present.
      SK Williams then explained that each of the future CTA meetings this year different Sir Knights will make the presentations & critiques.

Division Commander's Report:
SK Richard Holcombe, EGS, opened his report by announcing the death of Most Worshipful Brother Ronald R. Rogers, Grand Master of Masons of Ohio, who passed away earlier in the day.  A moment of silence was observed in his memory.  SK holcombe then made several comments.

1.) ask that each commandery make sure any corrections to rituals & tactics be made ASAP for upcoming inspections.
2.) Discussed the pre Chamber lecture.  Asked how many commanderies do this lecture, how many use the 4 ft sword and reminded SK's that there should be no speaking by other SKs in the asylum during the pre-chamber lecture.
3.) Grand Commandery.  Stated it would open at 8:45am & those SKs that would participate in the Arch of Steel should be ready at 8:00am.

  He reviewed the itinery for the Grand Commandery session & the costs for the various meals.  A brief discussion of drill team competition schedules was conducted.   He emtioned that the 3rd Div. may again be bringing home the Grand Commander's Cup as there were 21 knightings in One commandery alone in the 3rd Div.

4.)  Stated that at Grand Encampment it was mentioned that Ohio can now give three (3) KTCH's.

New Business
SK Norman Lincoln announced the formation of a NEW commandery in Eaton, Ohio, 2nd Div.   Called Jerusalem Commandery.  It's next stated Conclave would be Sept. 26.   Their 1st Inspection will be May 12, 2001.
     SK James Shew 1st VP, asked what commanderies would be interested in hosting the CTA meetings next year.  He requested any commandery interested should contact him ASAP.

Meeting update:  There have been some changes to this years CTA meeting schedule.
